This essay makes a very important point: understanding can certify repeatability. Verification can also certify repeatability - till the present, whenever that happpens to be. However, it modestly stops from an important assertion: understanding can certify indefinite repeatability. Terence Tao's point's refutation relies on a powerful emotional lever, which vanishes immediately when the stakes are lowered. Considering "Would you take a similarly designed cure for an annoying cold" immediately weakens the counter-argument.
